Saskatoon RCMP find body at Blackstrap Lake after search for missing Jet Skier

Police say they have recovered a body along Blackstrap Lake, Sask., where a search was underway Wednesday for a missing Jet Skier who was presumed drowned.

RCMP confirmed at about 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday a body had been found earlier that afternoon. The police service said in a news release the investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Earlier in the day, the police service said officers would continuepatrolling the north shoreline of the lake for signs of the missing 36-year-old man, who hadbeenreported missing at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Underwater recovery teams from the Saskatchewan and Manitoba RCMPhad finished searching and were unable to locate the body of the man, RCMP said in a news release earlier Wednesday.

Boat traffic was previously restricted but launches have now reopened and regular boat traffic has resumed.

Blackstrap Lake is located less than 50 kilometres from Saskatoon.
