Police in Saskatoon have arrested two men on drug charges after spying an alleged cocaine and methamphetamine deal in a downtown parking lot.

Members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team, or SIDEST, began their investigation after receiving information about drug trafficking late last month.

Last Friday at about 9:30 p.m. CST, SIDEST officers watched an alleged drug deal happen in a parking lot on 24th Street near 6th Avenue North.

A 25-year-old manwas arrested in the parking lot. Another man, 36, was arrested a short distance away. Police said they found more than 37 grams of cocaine and about 72 grams of methamphetamine. But the investigation did not stop there.

Police execute search warrant

Early the next morning, police searched an apartment on 6th Avenue N., not far from the parking lot where police allegedly watched the original drug deal. Investigators said they found cash, more than $26,000. They also found another 55 gram of methamphetamine.

Both men face a number of charges.
