A 28-year-old Saskatoon man is appearing in court today charged with evading police after a chase overnight.

Police say it started just after 2 a.m. CST when an officer spotted a suspicious car on the 500 block of Avenue F South.

It was suspicious because the car's registered owner was not supposed to be on the road.

The driver took off when the officer tried to pull him over. A short time later, he parked the car and then headed off on foot. He didn't get far, though, as the police plane had him in its sights.

He was arrested and is facing charges of evading police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and failing to comply with a conditional sentence.
