Prince Albert police call off volunteer search party for missing 4-year-old

Prince Albert police are looking for a four-year-old child who has been missing since Thursday night.

Search efforts for Sweetgrass Kennedy focusing on North Saskatchewan River; police ask public to avoid area

Police have called off a volunteer search party to help finda missing four-year-old boy in Prince Albert, Sask.

SweetgrassKennedy was last seen Thursday night.

A volunteer search partywas organized earlier Friday in Prince Albert, but police are now focusing all search efforts on the North Saskatchewan River and are asking the public, and volunteers, to avoid the area for safety reasons.

Police say search and rescue crews have been deployed, including the Saskatoon Police Service air support unit, members of the Prince Albert Fire Department and Saskatchewan Emergency Management fire and safety personnel.

Sweetgrass Kennedy was last seen in the 900 block of Second Street E. in Prince Albert just after 10 p.m. CST Thursday.

Police are asking the public to review any home or business surveillance video taken after3 p.m. Thursday in an effort to locate the boy.

He is three-feet-five-inches tall, weighs 45 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last wearing a light blue Star Wars hoodie and orange Halloweenpyjamapants.

While police are very concerned, they are not treating the boy's disappearance as suspicious.
