Regina MP Andrew Scheer considering a run at federal Conservative leadership

A Regina member of Parliament has confirmed he is seriously considering running for the leadership of the federal Conservative Party.

A Regina member of Parliament has confirmed he isseriously considering running for the leadership of the federal
Conservative Party.

At a luncheon for the Regina Chamber of Commerceon Tuesday,former Commons Speaker Andrew Scheer said he's been approached byseveral colleagues and supporters.

He said he will take the summer to consider his options.

During the next couple of months he will spend time meeting withpeople across the country and seeing if it's the right decision forhis family and for the party "to be able to rebuild toward 2019."

So far there are three declared candidates to take over the party Kellie Leitch and Michael Chong from Ontario and Maxime Bernierfrom Quebec.
