Saskatoon Public Schools has now suspended a high school teacher without pay as his case goes through the courts.

Rhett Lundgren, 39, has been charged with two counts of arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child and one count of attempting to access child pornography.

Lundgren teaches work education at Walter Murray Collegiate high school.

Once the charges were announced, Lundgren was suspended from work with pay. However, this week, Lundgren's status changed, and Saskatoon Public Schools has taken the teacher's paychequeaway.

Veronica Baker with the division said the decision was made after an internal investigation by Saskatoon Public Schools.

In 2008, Lundgren was also employed as a coach at the Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer, Alta.

The charges are the result of a Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigation, which started Nov. 29.

Lundgren's next court appearance is set for Tuesday morning.
