Saskatchewan Jazz Festival raises age restriction for free tickets

The Saskatchewan Jazz Festival has raised the age restriction for free tickets based on fan feedback.

Last year, children that were two years old and under could accompany an adult for free.

This summer, children aged 7 and under will be allowed to see the festival for free, as long as they are with an adult ticket holder. Each adult will be allowed to bring in up to two children.

"There were concerns that this age restriction made it difficult to attend shows. Based on your feedback, we have adjusted our children and youth ticketing structure," a news release said.

Youth aged eight to 12 will receive 50 per cent off the regular price of a main stage show.

The stipulations include:

• Proof of age is required.
• No refunds will be offered for tickets that were purchased for a child who does not need a ticket.
• A maximum of two children aged seven and under may be permitted free entranceper adult ticket.
• Youth pricing of 50 per cent off early bird and regular priceis only in effect for mainstage shows.
• Youth pricing cannot be further discounted with any other promotions.

The SaskatchewanJazz Festival will begin announcing showsnext Wednesday. The festival takes place June 24 to July 3.
