Sask. RCMP officer charged after allegedly pointing gun at Edmonton woman

An RCMP constable stationed in Morse, Sask. has been charged with pointing a firearm at an Edmonton woman.

Constable has 12 years of service with RCMP

The RCMP officer has been suspended with pay.

An RCMP constable stationed in Morse, Sask., has been charged with pointing a firearm at a woman in Edmonton.

Edmonton police, alongside a tactical unit, secured aresidenceafter receiving a weapons complaint on Tuesday evening.

RCMP say Const.Dale Malbeufwas arrested without incident by Edmonton police a short distance away from the home at approximately 8p.m. CST.

The 12-yearveteran of the forcewas also charged with careless use of a firearm.

The constable appeared in court the next day and was released under conditions.

He has been suspended with pay, and an RCMP Code of Conduct investigation has been ordered.

Morse is located 185 kilometres west of Regina.
