Jessica Adair thought she had Christmas squared away and then the Grinch struck.

The Saskatoon mother lost her job earlier this year because of a health issue. Money was tight, so she had to be careful about planning gifts this year for her six-year-old son. Still, she managed to buy him a snowboard and some Lego.

By Thursday, though, she no longer had anythingto put under the tree.

The day before, she had parked at a friend's house with all the gifts packed in her car trunk. The next day, they had been stolen.

Adair put in a report to police and tried to find a way to explain it to herson. But then word of the theft got out and friends, family and strangers rallied behind her.

Thanks to the kindness of others, her Christmas is saved. She received so much help sheis now encouraging people to donate to the food bank or someone elsein need.

"I think we're good," she said.

Adaircautioned people against leavingpresents in vehicles at this time of year.
