Friends remember Saskatoon homicide victim Adam St. Denis as artistic, outgoing

Friends of Adam St. Denis are describing Saskatoon's third homicide victim of the year as an outgoing, artistic young man.

The 24-year-old died after an assault last Wednesday. Police aren't saying exactly how he died, and an autopsy is scheduled for today.

Police were called to an apartment in a building on the 100 block of Avenue O South just after 1 p.m. on March 30. St. Denis was taken to hospital from the building.

Michelle Ecker went to Walter Murray Collegiate with St. Denis and stayed in touch after graduating.

"He's probably one of the few people that I trust.He's very easygoing, understanding, he doesn't judge anybody," she said.

Ecker said the area of town where he was assaulted is known as a violent neighbourhood. None of their mutual friends had a clear idea why St. Denis would have been there.

"He didn't judge anybody or anything," Ecker said."He really hung out with anyone."
