Police are hoping a videosurveillance camera somewhere in the area of the 300 block of Avenue E S. will yield clues in the city's eighth homicide of the year.

A 24-year-old man died of an injury early Saturday afternoon. Paramedics were called to the scene at 1:30 p.m. CST and rushed the man to hospital.

Police are not yet releasing his name, or the nature of his injury.

Much of the block was taped off that afternoon as uniformed and plain-clothed officers worked the crime scene and canvassed the neighbourhood.

They interviewed people who live in the neighbourhood and distributed questionnaires.

Investigators are nowcollecting and viewing video from cameras on homes and businesses on the block and the surrounding area.

Police also say they've interviewed and released a possible suspect.

Anyone in the area who has video that may assist the investigation is asked to contact police.
