Saskatoon motorcycle noise bylaw gets real June 1

Saskatoon's motorcycle noise bylaw comes into fulleffect on June 1.

Council amended the bylaw last year to set decibel limits on motorcycles, but it gave a one-year grace periodon issuing tickets.

To help riders comply, police are offeringthree clinics to test the decibel levels on bikes.

• April 25, 1 p.m. CST at Redline Harley Davidson
• May 10, 1 p.m.at Redline Harley Davidson
• May 30, 1 p.m.at Taylor Street MD Ambulance location

The clinics will assess noise levels, and also offer riders advice on how to bring their machines up to community and industry standards.

Riders whose bikes aren't within acceptable limits will not be ticketed at the clinics.
