Saskatoon police investigating 8th homicide of 2016

Saskatoon police are investigating a homicide on the weekend.

Police found an injured man on the 300 block Avenue E S. on June 18

Saskatoon police sent a release Sunday explaining they began the city's eighth homicide investigation of 2016 after a man found injured on the 300 block of Avenue E S died Saturday. (CBC)

Saskatoon police are investigating the city's eighth homicide of the year this weekend.

Police were called to the Riversdale neighbourhood at about 1:30 p.m. CST on Saturday. Officers found an injured man on the 300 block of Avenue E S.

The 24-year-old man was taken to hospital, but died as a result of his injury. Police did not provide more details on his injury.

Neighbours described police in plainclothes, on bicycles and in uniform closing off the area with tape and interviewing neighbours and people in nearby businesses on Saturday.
