Saskatoon police investigating city's second homicide of 2019

The city's major crimes unit is looking into Saskatoon's second homicide of the year.

Police were called to an alleyway behind the 100 block of Avenue Q South around 7 p.m. on Tuesday

Saskatoon's major crimes unit is looking into the city's second homicide of the year.

Police were called to an alley in the 100 block of Avenue Q S.around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

They located an injured31-year-old manwho was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police have identified "persons of interest," according to a news release issued on Wednesday.

Officers are still at scene ofthe shooting. There is also a police presence on the 200 block of AvenueS S.

Within the last five days, there have beenthree shootings and two assaults on police officers in Saskatoon, in addition to this latest homicide.
