Saskatoon's fire department kept busy with multiple calls

Saskatoon's fire department has posted a busy 24 hours.

Yesterday afternoon, fire crews spent a couple of hours fighting a grass fire east of the city. It was a big one, however, fire officials report there were no buildings in the way of the flames.

Crews were also called out to a crash on Circle Drive and Clarence Avenue. Firefightershad to use hydraulic rescue gear to free one person from the vehicle.

Firefighters were also called into action at the McDonald's restaurant on 22nd Street. There wasn't much damage, but the restaurant had to be closed down for a while to clean up the mess.In a news release, officials said this fire was deliberately set. Someone set plastic and paper on fire in a washroom.
