No injuries after car crashes through storefront in Saskatoon

The crash occurred at the SaskMade Marketplace on 8th St. E on Tuesday morning.

A driver has been ticketed, but no one was injured after a car crashed into a store inSaskatoon on Tuesday.

A Honda Civiccrashedinto the storefront of the SaskMade Marketplace on Eighth StreetE. at approximately 11:30 a.m.

"We've had a bit of a oops today at the store," the store said in a Facebook postabout an hour after the crash.

A spokesperson for the Saskatoon Police Service said the driver of thevehicle was attempting to pull into a parking spot when she accidentally acceleratedthrough the window of the store.

MichaelaBraaten, an employee with the SaskMade Marketplace, told CBC thatno one was injured in the incident.


Police say the 71-year-old driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.

A tow truck was called to remove the Civic.

By the time CBC arrived on Tuesday afternoon, workers were beginning to clean up thescene and boardingup the hole left behind by the car.

Braaten said the store may be able to open later on Tuesday, but would likely hold off until Wednesday.
