SGI makes photo radar boxes with cameras more difficult to identify

SGI is making it more difficult for drivers to spot photo radar boxes with cameras.

There are eight cameras in the province which rotate through 28 different sites.

SGI added black lines to the exterior of all of the boxes to make it more difficult to decipher if there is a camera inside.

"The goal is to get people to slow down whether there is a camera in the box or there is no camera in the box," SGI spokesperson Kwei Quaye said. "The goal is to slow down to make everybody safe."

Previously, only boxes with the camera had the lines.

All sites with a photo radar box are marked by signs.
