Jurors heard from the final defence witnesses Wednesday in SkippAnderson's sexual assault trial, ahead of Thursday morning's closing arguments.

Anderson, who owns Saskatoon's Pink Lounge and Nightclub, is accused of sexually assaulting a young man who had passed out after a hot tub party in 2016.

The alleged victim says he was too intoxicated to have given consent. Anderson says the young man initiated the sexual intercourse.

Anderson on the stand

Anderson testified in his own defence on Tuesday. Prosecutor Tamara Rock cross-examined him for most of the day Wednesday.

Rock questioned Anderson about what he said in a statement to police a month after the alleged assault, versus what he testified on the stand this week.

Or more specifically, she questioned him about what he did not say to police.

Anderson did not discuss the mechanics of gay sex with police at the time. During the trial this week, he said the specific sexual positions they used could not have happened without the young man consenting.

Anderson also did not tell police that he believed the alleged victim made the accusation against himbecause he feared being teased by his friends for havinga one-night stand.

AndAnderson did not say that he stopped having intercourse when the young man indicated he was sore.

Rock also questioned Anderson's decision to have intercourse with a young man who, only hours earlier, had to be pulled from Anderson's hot tub because he was so drunk he kept sliding under the water.

Anderson said that he crawled into bed with the young man because he was lonely and wanted to "snuggle." That was when the man initiated the sexual activity, Anderson testified Tuesday.

"You crawled into bed with the intention of having sex,"Rock said to Anderson during Wednesday's cross-examination.

Anderson denied that.

The lawyers will make their closing arguments Thursday morning. Justice Ron Mills will then give his instructions to the juryand they will begin deliberating.
