Street sweeper fire at Saskatoon city yards keeps crews busy

The Saskatoon Fire Department is looking into how a street sweeper started on fire early Friday morning.

Crews were able to contain fire to sweeper, cause of fire under investigation

The Saskatoon Fire Department is looking into how a street sweeper started on fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters received a 911 call just before 6:30 a.m. CST. When they arrived, heavy smoke was coming out of a shed at the city's Ontario Avenue property.

Crews were able to get into the shed and contained the fire to the street sweeper.

The shed was damaged by smoke but there was no further damage.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
