Two photo radar cameras coming to Saskatoon in October

A pilot project involving photo radar is bringing two enforcement cameras to the city next month.

Circle Drive and school zones targetted

Photo radar is coming to Circle Drive and school zones around the city.

The city and SGIannounced the two-year pilot project on Monday. The first phase will see a camera rotated across five locations on Circle Drive. The thoroughfare is getting targeted because of the speed and volume of the traffic, and the severity of the collisions.

The second camera will be set up in school zones.

The money collected from the cameras will be split between the city (75 per cent) and the province (25 per cent). The city will pay for the cameras $19,633 per month from this money.

Whatever is left will go into the traffic safety reserve.
