Mtispeople from across the province are preparing to vote in a general election to be held Saturday.

So far, 1,775 people have cast their ballots in early voting and advance polls of the Mtis Nation-Saskatchewan election.

The organization hasn't held an election since 2012.

The Mtis Nation-Saskatchewan funding was halted by the federal government in November 2014. The organization failed to honour agreements that mandated there be at least two Mtis Nation-Saskatchewan legislative assemblies per year.

Polling locations have been set up in towns and cities all across the province.
