Saskatoon YMCA rings in new year with family fun

The YMCA of Saskatoon is making sure that new year celebrations are not just for late-night revellers.

The YMCA in Saskatoon is making sure families have a place to celebrate the start of 2017.

The YMCA of Saskatoon is making sure that new yearcelebrations are not just for late-night revellers.

The organization is helping families ring in 2017 with a New Year's Eve party and a free open house on Jan. 1.

A family new year's party is being held at the YMCA from 3 to 6 p.m. CST on Dec. 31.

The free party includes games in the gym, crafts and a bouncy castle from 4 to6 p.m. There will also be a dance party with apinatasmash, balloon drop andcountdownfrom 4 to 6 p.m.

No drop-in fee will be charged from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.on New Year's Day, and the pool will be open for family swimming and lane swimming all day except between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

The gym, basketball equipment, floor hockey, pickleball and badminton facilities will also be available.

For those planning to start the new year witha health kick, visitors can also use the weight room, cardio machines, cycling studio and functional fitness area. The squash and racquetball courts will also be free to use.
