Hunt for Michel Trudeau's body called off for the day

A team of RCMP divers ended the first day of its resumed search for the body of Michel Trudeau.

They did not find any trace of the body.

Two days have been set aside to find the body of the youngest son of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau and his ex-wife, Margaret Kemper.

Trudeau was caught in an avalanche last November while skiing with friends. The search was called off last fall when ice on Lake Kokanee became too thick.

Police say that Trudeau's body may never be recovered if it was carried to the deepest part of the lake by the avalanche.

Divers will continue the search on Thursday. If at the end of the day they still haven't found Trudeau's body the hunt will most likely be called off for good.
