Thanks to a composite sketch, a man whose body was found in Junction Creek a year ago has finally been identified, as those of 44-year-oldOwen Paul Ahpay,Greater Sudbury Police say.

The remains of Owen Paul Ahpay, 44, were found in Junction Creek last year but the identity of his remains weren't confirmed until today. (GSPS)
Police received the report of human remains in Junction Creek in the areaof McLeod Street at Regent StreetonMay 2, 2015 but at the time, they couldn't figure out who he was.

Police made several public appeals for information, and in Aug. 2015, released a sketch that they hoped might lead to a tip.

On Tuesday of this week almost a year to the day after the body was discovered investigators got what they were looking for:word that thecomposite drawing on social media caught the attention of someone.
