Two more charged in Copper Cliff attempted murder case

Four people are facing charges including attempted murder after a bloody altercation in Copper Cliff on Friday night.

Tuesday arrests bring number of charged to four

On June 28, Greater Sudbury Police Service arrested two more peoplein connection with a weapons incident that occurred in Copper Cliff late Friday evening.

Officers were sent to the scene of a weapons complaint close to 10:30 p.m. on Peter Street.

Police said that a man was assaulted with an "edged weapon," and believe the victim was sought out by the attacker, and provoked into a fight.

One man is charged with

  • attempt murder
  • weapons dangerous;

while the second manis changed with

  • accessory after the fact attempted murder.

Both will be appearing in bail court on June 29.

As a result, there are now four people charged in relation to this incident.

On Monday, a31-year-old manfrom St. Charles was arrestedand charged with attempted murder and possession of a dangerous weapon.

A 28-year-oldwoman was charged with "accessory after the fact attempt murder" and dangerous driving.

The victim is recovering from his injuries, and at last check was still in stable condition.
