SIU investigating Ottawa man's death after deadly fall in North Bay

The provinces Special Investigations Unit is investigating the death of a 38-year-old Ottawa-area man yesterday in North Bay.

The province's Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances around the death of a 38-year-old Ottawa-area man yesterday in North Bay, Ont.

The SIU said that on Sunday at approximately 1:30 pm, North Bay police were called by Emergency Medical Services to an apartment building on Lakeshore Drive. Police located the man near the building.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the man fell to his death from the apartment.

Three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to investigate this incident. The post-mortem is scheduled for Tuesdayin Sudbury.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 ext. 2038.

The SIU is an arm's length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
