Detour Gold heads to court in connection with 2015 death of Denis Millette, 52

Representatives for Detour Gold are slated to make an appearance in a Cochrane, Ont.,courtroom onTuesdayinconnection with the 2015 death of a man at a mining operation nearCochrane.

On June 3, 2015, OPP said52-year-old Denis Millette of Matheson was fixing some equipment at the mine. He went into medical distress, and was seen by on-site medical staff.

Despite that help, Millettedied, and Ontario Provincial Police said in April thatthe cause was acute cyanide intoxication.

Detour Gold is charged with criminal negligence causing death, and the police investigation remains open.
