Atlas Copco allegedly bilked out of millions, one suspect has yet to be arrested

Sudbury police saya fraud case involving two senior executives at Atlas Copcois one of the largest its officers have handled.

It's alleged the two employees with Atlas Copco's Sudbury operation conspired with the company's healthcare provider to produce fraudulent invoices and shared the proceeds.

More than $16 million dollars was stolen, police said.

"You know with this amount of money being involved, it's going to be a lengthy investigation," Constable Meghan O'Malley.

"So it is a large fraud for our service, but these types of frauds do happen."

Sudbury police have been working on the case with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police since 2008.

"And that is again why it was a joint forces fraud investigation and why it took such a length of time to go through the investigative process and finish up," OMalley said. "The end result being charges against three individuals."

Two men have been arrested in Montreal in connection with the allegations and an arrest warrant has been issued for a third man.
