One dead in head-on collision on Lasalle extension

A head-on collision between a car and a transport truck,on the Lasalle extension, was a fatality.

Greater Sudbury Police say the crash killed the 47-year old male driver of the car. He was the only person in that vehicle.

The collisionhappened around 7:30 p.m Thursday on Lasalle Boulevard, between Frood Road and Elm Street.

No one else was injured.

Police closed a portion of the road for the investigation, but it reopened around 11p.m., after more than three hours.

Police say there isno indicationthat alcohol was involved.

The collision is still under investigation by the Greater Sudbury Police traffic management unit.
