Home invasion in Coniston: Elderly couple threatened with knife

An elderly couple in Coniston were victims of a home invasion Monday night, and Sudbury police are still searching for the suspects.

An elderly couple in Coniston were victims of a home invasion Monday night, and Sudbury police are still searching for the suspects.

Sudbury police said the incident happened shortly after 9 p.m., when the couple, in their 80s, heard a knock at the door of their Walter Street home.

The womanthought the person at the door was someone she knew but it wasn't.

When she let the man in, police said he cut the phone lines with a knife,and said, "I have a knife, and I want your money."

The woman was able to escape to the neighbours, where she called police.

The suspect, who was wearing a hoodie and glasses to hide his identity, fled the scene.

The couple was taken to hospital for minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police.
