Former PM and wife Aline say Thibeault has experience and determination
A former Canadian Prime Minister once known for hisShawiniganhandshakeis wading into theSudbury, Ont., provincialbyelection justas an influential union makes some aggressive moves in the campaign as well.
The party said Jean Chrtien worked withThibeaultand believes he has the experience and determination to best representSudbury.
The provincial Liberals go on to quote Aline Chrtien, who was the first appointed chancellor ofLaurentianUniversity.
She is quoted as sayingSudburyneeds anMPPwho reflects its people, andThibeaultwould do that.
Meanwhile, a United Steel Workers Union attack adagainstThibeaultisbeing broadcast on private radio stations inSudbury.
The Steelworkers have paid for an ad running on private radio inSudburyencouraging people to voteNDP.
"Secret job offers ... that's just dirty politics byThibeaultand the Liberals, a portion of the ad says.Thibeaultsays he did it all for the people ... what an arrogant BLEEP."
The ad also discusses Andrew Olivier, the former Liberal candidate inSudbury.
Olivier alleges the Liberal party offered him a job or appointment in exchange for stepping aside something the Liberals say didn't happen.
