TerranceGalvin, founding director of the downtownSudburyschool, saidwet soil atthesite on Elm Streethad to be drained of water before construction supports could be driven into the rock.

The process, called "de-watering," wasn't unexpected but it has taken longer than anticipated, Galvin said.

The expected date for completion of the project is now early next year.

In the meantime, Galvin said the school is already using a room in a St. Andrew's church as a classroom, and is looking to make use of other space downtown to accommodateapproximately 70 incoming students this fall.

"We're hoping just to confirm additional space in a downtown partner and including St. Andrew's. We have a plan that is unfolding as we speak," he said.
