Laurentian University avoids faculty strike

The Laurentian University Faculty Association says a tentative settlement has been reached with teachers, ending the threat of a strike.

The university had until midnight Mondayto reach a new contract withall itsfull-time faculty, librarians and part-timesessionalsin Sudbury and Barrie.

The faculty association saida tentative agreement was reached Monday morning.

Details of the agreement have not yet been released.

The association said details about aratification vote will be announced soon.
