Earthquakes Canada is reporting a 3.8 magnitude earthquake happened in the Sudbury area at around 2:15 p.m. today a magnitude that isconsidered "mild."

Two seismic events took place Tuesday afternoon, said Cathy Woodgold, a seismologist with Earthquakes Canada.

The events were 3.3 magnitude and 3.8 magnitude, and may notbe related to mining activity.

"We presume these are earthquakes, because the magnitude 3.8 is a little too large to be a mining blast,' she said.

Woodgoldnotedthe centre monitors mining activity, but those events usually registera magnitude of around one or two.

Sudbury Police say noinjury or damage has been reported tothem.
