3 charged with murder following stabbing in Batchewana First Nation

A stabbing last week in the community of Batchewana First Nation, near Sault Ste Marie, has now become a homicide and three people face murder charges.

A stabbing last week in the community of Batchewana First Nation, near Sault Ste Marie, Ont., has now become a homicide and three people face murder charges.

The 19-year old victim was taken to hospital on July 30 after the incident, but died of his injuries on Tuesday.

The Ontario Provincial Policesay they have charged a 20 year-old man from the community with first-degree murder.

Two teenagers, a 17 year-old from Batchewana First Nation and a 16 year-old from Thunder Bay have also been charged with first-degree murder.
