Powerful narcotics stolen in break-in at doctor's office

Sudbury Police are investigating after powerful narcotics were stolen from a locked pharmacy at a doctor's office on Notre Dame Avenue, Thursday. The culprits stole vials of Fentanyl, Versed, Remifentanyl and bottles of Morphine.

Police warn public about use of Fentanyl, Versed, Remifentanyl and morphine.

Sudbury Police are investigating after powerful narcotics were stolen from a locked pharmacy.

Thieves broke in to a doctor's office on Notre Dame Avenue Thursday.

Police saidthe culprits stole more than 160 vials of Fentanyl, 78 vials of Versed, 70 vials of Remifentanyl and ten bottlesof Morphine.

Remifentanyl is 100-times stronger that Fentanyl.

Police saidparticular caution must be given when handling this drug since it could be fatal.

Anyone who may find these drugs should contactGreater Sudbury Policeor any emergency service agency.

Police also warn members of the public totake extra precautions withcaring forlegal and prescribed medications.

Any unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs should bedropped off for proper disposal at any drug store or pharmacy at any time.
