No inquest in Lake Wanapitei fatal boat crash: coroner

The Ontario's Coroner's Officehas decided not to order an inquest into the boat crash that killed three people on Lake Wanapitei last year.

The families of the young people who were killed had been calling for an inquest in light of some questions about the emergency response effort.

But acting regionalsupervising coronerDr. David Eden has ruled that an inquest isn't necessary.

He saida working group, including representatives from Sudbury emergency services and the Ministry of Health, have already come up with a list of recommendations.

Eden saidthe group's work will help to prevent similar deaths in the future.
