A citizen opposed to a Dalron development overlooking Ramsey Lake is thrilled with a decision from the Ontario Municipal Board.

The OMB has dismissed the developer's proposal to build 300 homes in the Minnow Lake area. The matterhad been before the Board since the city rejected it in 2012.

Suzy Franklyn, who lives across the street from the area Dalron wants to develop, told CBC News she worried about what would happen to run-off if the bluff was cleared for construction.

"Where is that water going to run into? Naturally it's going to run downhill into the lake," she said.

"There's also the concern about things like road salt and so on and so forth."

Franklyn said she and her neighbours are relieved.

"We have something like 1,100 signatures of concerned residents that were opposed vehemently opposed to this type of an application. The main issue [was] traffic congestion on Howey Drive."

No one from Dalron was available to comment.

The developer has 30 days to ask the municipal board to review its decisionand can also ask for a judicial review.
