Francophone groups in Sudbury are taking time to celebrate St-Jean-Baptiste Day.

An official with the Franco-Ontarien Folklore Centre in Sudbury said there were special events throughout Sudbury, Ontario and the country.

Today, we are more celebrating the Francophone culture, Danielle Blais said.

Just to be proud, who you are, your origin and also, its good [for] the community to invite them to know our culture.

Events in Sudbury included concerts, a flag raising and barbecues.
