A Sudbury woman is bringing a whole new meaning to the term "hair care."

Barber Sharon Pollock is offering free hair cuts to the homeless at the Samaritan Centre, on Elgin Street.Herbarber's chair will be open free of charge every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Pollock saidthe small dignity that comes with good grooming can boost people when they're down.

"It's going to give them dignity for one thing, and I think that is really important," Pollock said, "also, it's going to help people that are looking for jobs that have no money that have to come in and have a haircut. Also, to feel good about themselves."

"It's needed," she said, "it's a needed program in Sudbury and I feel we all should be helping. We should all be taking a part of caring for people."

The Samaritan Centre is asking for donations to help with the costs of everything from shampoo to electric shears.
