As the holiday standard, It's a Wonderful Life, goes on the stage at the Sudbury Theatre Centre, one actor will be playing quite a few roles.

Richard Barlow will perform twelve different parts in the production.

"I've done a lot of shows before, but this is my first professional theatre show," he said.

"The speed in which we do everything is great. I'm used to three month-long rehearsals whereas we've had two weeks on this one. I've really enjoyed that."

Barlow will play Ernie, Mr. Carter, Mr. Martini, Mickey, Marty and a number of other characters.

When asked if he got paid per character, Barlow said with a laugh that he does not.

"I should have had a better negotiation process I guess," he said. "I just took the one character fee."

Barlow is from Sudbury, and studied theatre arts at Thorneloe University. The production in Sudbury was adapted by Caleb Marshall, and features many other Sudbury actors. It runs until Dec. 18.
