'Just can't sit by and let it go down' say Sudburians volunteering in US Election

A group of sixSudburianswill be heading to Ohio later today to try to stop Donald Trump from moving into the White House.

Analysts say the Republican candidate needs to win the key swing state tomorrow to become president.

This inspired LisaDemmerto use some vacation days to volunteer for theHilaryClinton campaign in Lake County, Ohio.

"So worth it to be part of something this big and part of it is being able to tell my kids some day, especially my daughter, that I was there, on the ground, when Americans voted for human beings and elected the first female president," says Demmer.

Long-time Sudbury political organizer Richard Eberhardt is also heading south of the border to work on his first American campaign.

He says it was hard to sit this one out.

"The choices are just so stark in this U.S. election campaign, just can't sit by and let it go down without doing a little bit. The danger that the republican candidate poses, not just to his own country, is enough to motivate us to go."

Eberhardt says he doesn't feel he's interfering in another country's election, since his job will be getting voters already identified as Clinton supporters to the polls.
