Energy Minister says gas bill breakdown unlikely

It's unlikely natural gas customers will get to see what the Liberal government's cap and trade plan is costing them.

Ontario Energy Board says changes forced by cap-and-trade just cost of doing business

It's unlikely natural gas customers will get to see what the Liberal government's cap and trade plan is costing them.

Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault says he won't order the Ontario Energy Board to break out the costs on natural gas bills.

The OEB has said that cap and trade won't be a separate line item because the regulator considers them a cost of doing business.

It's estimated the plan to reduce the province's greenhouse gas emissions is expected to add about five dollars a month to home heating costs starting January 1.
