Body found near Chapples Drive deemed a homicide

Thunder Bay Police said the death of a man found Wednesday morning near Chapples Golf Course is the city's eighth homicide of the year.

Thunder Bay Police saidthe death of a man whose body was found Wednesday morning nearChapplesGolf Course is the city's eighth homicide case of the year.

Detectives confirmed that the deceased manwas the victim of foul play.

Hisidentity has not yet been verified. A post mortem is scheduled to take place in Thunder Bay tomorrowto determine the cause of death and to identify the victim.

Police saidthey have no suspects at this point.

Officers were called just after 7:30 this morningby a passerby who had discovered the body near a bike path along the south end of ChapplesDrive.

Access to the Chapples Park area has been restricted all day. Police are still holding the scene.
