Additional COVID-19 case confirmed in Dryden, Ont.

The Northwestern Health Unit has confirmed one new case of COVID-19 in Dryden, Ont.

The new case was announced on Tuesday, May 19, just a few days after a new case was confirmed in nearby Sioux Lookout, Ont.

The new case brings the health unit's catchment area total to 19 cases, however, only three are considered active.

Of the three active cases, one isa person who has their primary residence in southern Ontario, and they have not been in northwestern Ontario.

Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Gemmill will provide an update to media on the cases at 1 p.m. central time.
