Hockey Canada boss Tom Renney to meet with officials in Thunder Bay

Tom Renney, the president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada, will be in Thunder Bay this weekend for Hockey Northwestern Ontario's fall president's meeting.

Tom Renney, the president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada, will be in Thunder Bay this weekend for Hockey Northwestern Ontario's fall president's meeting.

The head of the national governing body of hockeywill also be dropping the puck ahead of the Friday night showdown between theLakehead Thunderwolvesand Nipissing Lakers at 7 p.m. at the Fort William Gardens.

Renneyannounced plansto address the minor and junior hockey delegates and presidents from northwestern Ontario on Saturday. He is also set to take part in the meeting and speak with coaches involved in the introduction to coaching clinic.

The former National Hockey League head coach was in Toronto on Thursday after the body decided to name two-time Olympic gold medalwinner Mike Babcock as head coach of the Canadian team forthe 2016 World Cup of Hockey. The eventtakes place next September in Toronto.

Renney, 60, took over for former Hockey Canada top executive Bob Nicholson last July.
