A work crew has erected scaffolding beneath the James Street swing bridge in Thunder Bay.

Several workers were seen on Wednesday setting up scaffolding at the north end and clearing snow from the bridge.

One crew member told CBC News the platforms will be in place for about two weeks while timbers are replaced.

It's not clear if that's connected to the possible reopening of the bridge to vehicle traffic.

A spokesperson for CN said the company continues to wait for an engineering report on the bridge's condition.

In early December, the railway said it needed three months to do that study.
