Kenora residents on alert for imminent flooding

David Canfield saidresidents and city officials are monitoring levels on area waterways as outflow continuesdownstream from Rainy Lake.

The city has made sandbags available for residents in at-risk areas but, he said, right nowall anyone can do is watch.

"If it comes up another foot, we're in trouble," he said.

"If it starts to recede, we're going to luck out, but it's a wait-and-see."

Canfield saidhe's not aware of any critical facilities or infrastructure in Kenora that's at risk, should water levels rise.

However, emergency measures personnel are on standby.
