North American Palladium says it has re-started its milling operations at the Lac Des Iles mine north of Thunder Bay.

The company says its mill was ramped up a week ago, after it received a dam safety report, confirming the structural integrity of tailings ponds.

The milling operation was shut down at the end of May, due to number of issues with what was being called "water balance."

Untreated water was discharged from the site, but the company says only treated water has been released since June 18.

The company says it's working on a long-term monitoring and remediation plan,as it does not yet know the impact of discharging the tailings water without treatment.
