Guillaume Donovan, David Foucher trial now set for August, 2017

The sexual assault trial of two former members of the University of Ottawa men's hockey team is now slated to start next year in Thunder Bay, Ont. on August 21, 2017.

The sexual assault trial of two former members of the University of Ottawa men's hockey team is now slated to start next year in Thunder Bay, Ont.

The trial ofGuillaume Donovan and David Foucher has been set for August 21, 2017 and is expected to last 10 days.

Both men were charged two years ago stemming from an alleged incident at a Thunder Bay hotel in February 2014.

Their trial was set to start in August, 2016, but the case was delayed after a medical issue involving the family of one of the defence lawyers.

When charges were laid, Donovan was 24 years old and Foucher was 25. Both men are from Gatineau, Que., andwere released from custody.

The University of Ottawa hockey team was suspended during the police investigation. Ral Paiement, who was the head coach of the team at the time, was initially suspended before being fired by the university.
